John Wick star Keanu Reeves is at it again. Spreading joy on unsuspecting fans with his presence, that is. The actor has made non-entertainment headlines for things like rescuing Octavia Spencer, donating his Matrix earnings to cancer research, and for his encounter with a young teen at an airport, which went viral. Apparently, Reeves is still much in an obliging mood. James and Nikki Roadnight had just exchanged wedding vows at Fawsley Hall over the weekend when James discovered that Reeves was a guest at their picturesque hotel. James Roadnight asked the actor if he’d like to join the celebration and was shocked when he accepted. Nikki Roadnight told Newsweek:
“My husband saw him in the bar area and told him he’d just got married and invited Keanu to come over to say hello and have a drink with us if he wanted to. He was very friendly and said he would later on. We didn’t know if he would or not, but it was cool that my husband had spoken to him!”
Shortly afterwards, she was informed that a “very special guest” was looking for her. It was the Speed star himself.
Keanu Reeves, the Ultimate Wedding Guest
Smitten, the new bride changed her Twitter profile pic to an image of her and the 57-year-old actor on the cover of a regency romance novel. When a friend pointed out that she might be neglecting James, Nikki defended the decision.
“Mr. Roadnight won’t mind just for a few days.”
The new Mrs. Roadnight added in her interview with Newsweek:
“It was all very exciting, and I went to say hi and introduce myself, and I offered him a drink, but he declined that and said he’d just had a long flight so wouldn’t stay long, but he was so kind and friendly and congratulated us on our wedding. He was kind enough to do some pictures, and our wedding photographer was able to capture some too! Then he took the time to speak to some of our guests and have more photos done! Keanu Reeves dropping by to say hello was just out of this world. Something to remember and the start of many more adventures together.”
The happy couple weren’t the only ones whose day was brightened by Keanu Reeves. While the actor and others were sharing a meal at The Fox and Hounds at Charwelton in Northamptonshire on Wednesday, the manager of the village pub manager Danny Ricks said he had to “do a double take” and server Laura James added they “managed to keep it together” while serving Keanu Reeves. Ricks described Reeves as:
“A lovely, down to earth guy” who was “really nice to everyone. Just everything nice you would think about him was all true.”
Dianne King, who lives in the village and was in the pub with her husband Jason, said at first, she did not realize it was Reeves, “so obviously I had to go and ask him 10 times ‘is it really you?'”
She said he and the people with him were “lovely”.
King added, “Myself and my husband are still on a high from it – what an honor and what a lovely man.”
