Apple TV+ launched on November 1, 2019, and with its inception came the incredible sci-fi drama See. See takes place in an apocalyptic dystopian America several centuries in the future, where humanity has learned to live without sight due to a virus taking away the sense. With season three just premiering, we can expect to find our lead, Jason Momoa, waging war again to save his family. These are the main characters of the third and final season of See.
Jason Momoa is outstanding as See’s main character, Baba Voss. Baba was the leader and is one of the last surviving members of the Alkenny Tribe. Baba is a fearless warrior but will choose a more docile approach useless it is to protect his family and tribe. Throughout the series, Momoa has had some of the best fight scenes of his career, including epic fights against Dave Bautista.
Hera Hilmar plays Baba Voss’ wife Maghra, who was taken in by the Alkenny people when she was pregnant with her twins. In season one it was revealed that she was truly Queen Maghra of House Kane and now, in season three, she has taken her rightful place as the ruler of Payan. Maghra is fiercely protective of her family and her kingdom and will do whatever it takes to keep them safe.
Blade Runner 2049’s Sylvia Hoeks plays Sibeth Kane, the disgraced former ruler of Payan and Maghra’s older sister. As queen, she sent her Witchfinders on a ruthless mission to stop the rumor about sight returning. This mission specifically targeted Maghra’s twins and put the sisters at odds. Although Sibeth has changed her opinion about the sighted, she has not changed her crazy tactics to get what she wants.
Kofun (Archie Madekwe) is the sighted son of Maghra and the heretic sighted man Jerlamarel (Joshua Henry). Baba Voss is Kofun’s adoptive father and his role model. He is smart, composed, and always careful, especially about being sighted. Although not a warrior like his sister, he will not shy away from a fight if one comes his way. Fans can guarantee season three will see Kofun dealing with his biggest challenge yet.
Haniwa (Nesta Cooper) is Kofun’s twin and the sighted daughter of Maghra and Jerlamarel. Like her brother, Haniwa massively looks up to her adoptive father, Baba Voss. She is more curious than her twin and very rebellious. She is proud, determined, and a fierce warrior. Haniwa does not shy away from a fight and often goes looking for one.
Tamacti Jun (Christian Camargo) was the royal tax collector and the Witchfinder General under Queen Sibeth’s rule. Now that the sighted are accepted under Queen Maghra along with his own belief that the sighted are not evil, he finds himself at odds with his old company. Tamacti Jun is a brilliant man and a highly skilled warrior, which he continues to display as Payan’s main General.
Wren (Eden Epstein) is the smart and ambitious captain of the Trivantian army. Her mentor and close confidant was Baba Voss’s younger brother, the late Edo Voss (Dave Bautista), who was the only Trivantian to know about her sight. Although Wren left Haniwa to go back to her people, you can guarantee there are still feelings between the two.
Charlotte (Olivia Cheng) is a fierce warrior and one of the last protectors of the Alkenny Tribe. Charlotte has absolutely no filter and does not shy away from saying what is on her mind, especially to Haniwa. Charlotte was tasked with protecting Haniwa due to her gift of sight and takes her job very seriously.
Sleepy Hollow’s Tom Mison plays Lord Harlan, the ruler of the city of Pennsa (the new capital of Payan). He is smart, cunning, and a gifted talker. Harlan and Maghra were childhood friends which led them to make the political arrangement to get married, much to the dismay of Maghra’s family. Although Harlan may have feelings for Maghra, he respects her wishes and knows that her heart lies with Baba.
Tormada (David Hewlett) is the chief science officer of the Trivantian army. With the help of Jerlamarel’s oldest sighted son, Oloman (Dayo Okeniyi), Tormada develops a devastating weapon that will change the course of warfare for the world of See. With his sights set on Payan, there is no telling what Tormada will do.
As See is ending with season three on Apple TV+, it will be interesting to see how the creators will wrap up such a great series. With only a few action-packed episodes of the season out so far, fans can expect a season filled with battles, drama, and the always-amazing Jason Momoa. See is now streaming on Apple TV+.
